The ESWC09 workshop SPOT2009 on ‘Trust and Privacy on the Social and Semantic Web’ was a great success. Thanks to all people submitting their works and the brilliant discussion on-site.
Further, Martin Hepp and gave a full-day tutorial, The Web of Data for E-Commerce in One Day: A Hands-on Introduction to the GoodRelations Ontology, RDFa, and Yahoo! SearchMonkey.
Finally, I co-ordinated the Lightning Talks at ESWC09.

On Wednesday, 22 April there was the official opening and then we had a Birds of a Feather (BOF) meeting on a Research Agenda For Linked Data yielding a TOP10 list of research issues as well as a proposal for LOD intra-community liaison officers.
On Friday, 24 April we had a great time at the W3C Social Web Camp, incl. microblogging discussions and good progress on ‘enabling a read-write Web of Data’ with Oshani Seneviratne and Tim Berners-Lee.

The 7th International Semantic Web Conference, Karlsruhe, Germany (ISWC08) was just great and very busy for me: a workshop paper at the Social Data on the Web workshop SDoW08, nice lightning talks (see also video captures) and two tutorials:
On the first day (26 Oct) I gave the RDFa – Bridging the Web of Documents and the Web of Data tutorial (see also video captures) and on the second day (27 Oct), together with Chris Bizer, Tom Heath, Richard Cyganiak and Olaf Hartig the How to Publish Linked Data on the Web tutorial, again see also video captures. They also had a nice idea to support discussions: a dedicated social network.

So, we had a very successful first Web of Data Practitioners Days (WOD-PD08) in Vienna, Austria with over 40 participants from all over Europe.

Presented User Contributed Interlinking at the 4th Workshop on Scripting for the Semantic Web and a short paper at the First Workshop on Semantic Interoperability in the European Digital Library. Finally, at the poster session it was time to show i r s; fun without network.
Most notably we kicked-off voiD (vocabulary of interlinked datasets). Big thanks to Richard, Keith, and Jun; it was a real pleasure to work on this with you … let’s continue it! See also Keith’s blog post and Richard’s blog post.
